Valley United Way Back to School 2014

Derby, Seymour and Shelton Schools Kickoff Valley United Way’s Community Campaign!

Kids go back to school tomorrow but teachers started Monday. Derby, Seymour & Shelton public schools each held their teachers opening day and invited Valley United Way to kickoff their year with charitable giving. Valley United Way spoke to staff about the importance of giving to their local community to support those who live and work in our five towns, especially their students. Derby and Shelton ran their campaigns electronically this year in hopes of engaging younger staff through a tech savvy portal for donating. Superintendent Freeman Burr of Shelton encouraged all staff to donate just $3 a week to reach their goal of $20,000. Thank you to our school systems for their support of Valley United Way! Good luck with the new school year!
